Terms & licence

Last updated [DATE] · Solo Desk · ABN [your ABN]

Short version: use it in your own practice as much as you like, and don't pass the files on.

1. Who you're dealing with

Solo Desk is operated by Solo Desk, ABN [your ABN], in New South Wales, Australia. Contact: [your@email].

2. What you're buying

The Note System is a set of digital files: a training manual, the Shift Note Standards file, a printable process flow, and a start-here page. It's delivered by download after purchase. Nothing is posted to you and there's no physical product.

It also includes twelve months of updates from your date of purchase. If the material changes materially in that time, you'll get the new version at no extra cost.

3. Your licence

You get a personal licence to use these materials in your own work as an independent support worker. It's registered to you by name.

You may

  • Use everything in your own practice, for as many participants as you support
  • Print it, mark it up, and adapt the wording for your own records
  • Upload the Shift Note Standards file to your own AI assistant account
  • Show it to a coordinator, plan manager or auditor who asks how you produce your records

You may not

  • Share, send, upload or publish the files, in whole or in part
  • Sell them, or include them in anything you sell
  • Use them to create a competing product, guide or course
  • Give them to an organisation to distribute to its workers
  • Use them to train or build an AI system or dataset
  • Remove the copyright or licence details from any copy

Organisations wanting to provide this to their workers need a separate licence. Get in touch and we'll sort something out.

The licence is for one person. Breaching it ends the licence, including access to updates.

What I'm asking, plainly. If a colleague would find this useful, send them the link rather than the file. Every copy shared instead of bought is a reason for this not to keep being updated — and the updates are most of what you're paying for.

4. Copyright

© 2026 Solo Desk. All rights reserved. Solo Desk and The Note System are trade marks of Solo Desk. The text, structure, worked examples and the Shift Note Standards file are original material and remain my property.

5. Payment and delivery

Payments are processed by Payhip, who act as merchant of record. Their terms apply to the transaction itself. Prices are in Australian dollars.

Your download link is emailed immediately after purchase. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder and then email me — I'll send it manually.

6. Your consumer rights

These materials are digital and delivered immediately, so there is no general change-of-mind refund.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. If something isn't as described or isn't fit for purpose, contact me and we'll sort it out.

7. What this is, and what it isn't

Read this part properly. The Note System is general educational material. It is not legal, compliance, clinical, tax or financial advice, and it isn't exhaustive.

8. No affiliation

Solo Desk is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in partnership with the National Disability Insurance Agency, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, or Anthropic. Claude is a product of Anthropic and is referred to only to describe how to use it. All trade marks belong to their owners.

AI tools change frequently. Steps and screenshots may differ from what you see, and features vary by plan. I update the material, but I can't control what those tools do.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to the Australian Consumer Law, my liability for any claim connected with these materials is limited to resupplying them or refunding what you paid. I'm not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

This doesn't limit liability that can't lawfully be limited.

10. Changes

I may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published when you bought. Changes appear here with a new date at the top.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

12. Getting in touch

Email [your@email]. I read everything, and I'd rather hear a problem than have you quietly annoyed about it.
